The Centre for European Research mission is to:
- Combine conventional scholarly activities (research seminars, lectures, visiting speakers etc.), with the development of a dynamic interface between the academic community and policy officials, NGOs, practitioners and business leaders;
- Support research activities, mainly through the funding of conferences and workshops with a European focus;
- Promote excellence in teaching and learning on matters relating to Europe;
- Provide a platform for the engagement of research students with an interest on Europe from different disciplinary backgrounds.
The CER currently hosts two highly successful and prestigious publications: the Taylor and Francis journal East European Politics (formerly Journal of Communist Studies and Transition Politics) is edited by Professor Adam Fagan and Mediterranean Politics (2016 impact factor 1.117 for 2016) is co-edited by Dr. Sarah Wolff.
We welcome applications from graduate students and post-doctoral candidates who wish to study and research aspects of European politics and policy. We are also delighted to receive applications from external junior and senior scholars who wish to become visiting fellows of the CER.
In addition, applications from non-academic professionals engaged in aspects of European politics and policy who wish to spend time in a scholarly environment are also welcomed.
For any applications or enquiry please contact directly the Director of the CER, Dr. Sarah Wolff email@example.com
